Our single-layer CA sheet extrusion line line can be customized according to customers' special requirements to produce CA sheets. there are two type of machines, one is for CA Thin sheets: the thickness range is 0.2mm-0.8mm. The product is widely used for Shoelace tip(aglet). The other is for thick CA sheet. the thickness range is 1-6mm. This product is widely used in the manufacturing of eyeglass frames (spectacle frame) or hair combs .

Key Components of a Cellulose Acetate film extrusion line


Resin Handling System:

  • Stores and feeds cellulose acetate (CA) resin pellets into the extruder.

  • May include drying systems to remove moisture from the resin, as CA is hygroscopic.


Hair comb sheet extrusion line's extruder:

  • The core component where CA resin is melted and homogenized.

  • Typically a single or twin-screw extruder with precise temperature control to ensure proper melting and flow of the material.


Die:

  • Shapes the molten CA into a flat sheet.

  • The die design determines the thickness and width of the final sheet.


Calendering or Polishing Rolls:

  • A series of heated and cooled rollers that calibrate the thickness, surface finish, and flatness of the extruded sheet.

  • These rolls also help gradually cool the sheet to prevent warping or defects.


Cooling System:

  • Cools the sheet to solidify it after extrusion.

  • May include air knives, water baths, or chill rolls, depending on production requirements.


Haul-Off Unit:

  • Pulls the sheet through the production line at a controlled speed to maintain consistency in thickness and dimensions.


Cutting and Stacking System:

  • Cuts the continuous sheet into desired lengths.

  • Stacks the sheets for packaging or further processing.


Control System:

  • A centralized control panel or PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) to monitor and adjust parameters such as temperature, speed, and pressure.

Material Preparation

  • Cellulose acetate (CA) resin pellets undergo drying and dehumidification before being fed into the extruder.

Extrusion

  • Resin is melted and homogenized in the extruder, then forced through a flat die to form a continuous sheet.

Calendering & Cooling

  • The sheet passes through calendering rolls to achieve precise thickness and surface finish.

  • A cooling system solidifies the sheet while maintaining dimensional stability.

Cutting & Stacking

  • The cooled sheet is cut to specified dimensions and stacked for packaging or downstream processing.

  • What package do you use for the machine?

    Painted the machine with anti-corrosion oil, and then covered with plastic film, and then packed into wooden case or fixed onto wooden pallet as per clients' requirements, or shall be loaded into container with film packing. After fixed all machines, we will use drying agent to keep container inside dry.
